Is Prayer the key to every problem?

Prayer is the answer to every problem in life. Kindly leave your suggestions in the comment section.  It puts us in tune with divine wisdom which knows how to adjust everything perfectly. So often we do not pray in certain situations, because from our standpoint the outlook is hopeless. But, nothing is impossible with God. No habit so deep rooted that it cannot be overcome; No one so ill that cannot be healed. No mind so dull that cannot be made brilliant. Whatever we need, if we trust God, he will supply it.  let us stop rehearsing the difficulty and trust God for healing, love and power. '' BUT WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE'' MATT 19:26

Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell

Image
I had my feet up since Friday trying to sort out my other school stuff. I first of mentally organise my reads before putting the general ideas onto paper. And so I spent my weekend deliberating on what would constitute my next academic chapter. For today's story book, we read Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell. It is an open-the-flap book which makes it interactive and engaging with the kids. It acts as a play moment for the kids as the children try to grapple with the type of animal sent by their zoo friends. The little book begins with someone sending a letter to her zoo friends to find her/him a pet. They send the fiercest of them all, but she sent it back. They sent Mr Grumpy and still, it wasn't right. The friends at the zoo had to rethink and brought their heads to use by choosing a puppy. At last! ha! they got it right---a puppppyyyyy was the perfect gift. Lesson: it is sometimes difficult to figure out what gift would be suitable for our friends, but we a

Success And You

If you cannot rejoice in some other person’s success, you place stumbling blocks on your own path and success might just be unable to locate you. For to become successful you’ve got to do so by tapping into other peoples’ glory moments; you’ve got to get inspired not bitter,  you've  got to get fired up, to sit and work hard and not harbour hate for that successful person.

Little Red Riding Hood

Image
One of the best classics I have read so far is Little Red Riding Hood who does not heed her mom's advice and allows the wolf to suggest things to her. Yes it is brilliant to get flowers for grandma, but if mom said to look out for the big bad wolf, you'd better do as told. She thinks the big bad wolf suggestion of picking up flowers for grandma is in her best interest, unfortunately, it is not the case as the big bad wolf has other ideas. He speeds off to grandma's house for some tasty food. Grandma isn't there and he assumes her place waiting to GOBBLE UP Little Red Riding Hood Little Red Riding Hood notices strangeness in grandma's body features and she begins to ask questions: what big teeth have you? what big ear you've got etc..the big bad wolf is at it until they are rescued by a woodcutter. It is important to take things one day at a time; gracefully surrendering our strengths to the things which mean the most to us.

Little Humans By Brandon Stanton

Image
One most important thing that warms my heart about this book is the very fact that I was present from its inception on FB liking every initiative and even commenting. Today, my little girl makes me particularly proud as she can read through it with little difficulty. Her favourite take in the book is the bit which states that little humans are "super tough, super hero tough." Having said that, she's not particularly keen about the fact that she's called a little human. I guess they'd all be saying that because before we could finish reading the book, a 'little human' said, "hey! I'm not little. I'm Big.' Sure they grow big and on their way to growth they sometimes, fall, but they always stand up tall. Lesson: It doesn't matter how many times we fall, we can always stand up tall if we work hard at doing the little things most efficiently.

Paintings of a Three-Year-Old; Meaningless Beauty

Image
One of my kids drew something a few months ago and we decided to frame them. One of the most amazing things about an artist is that they can hardly replicate one painting. Any piece of art is unique in it self and if we are humans created by a grand artist, I see why we can never be same. Reason to appreciate difference. I am aware that some of you would be wondering what does this piece of art mean/represent? Like I earlier mentioned, it is a painting by a 3-year-old. She described a few words about what she attempted to draw. I am clueless of the ones I framed and I'll leave your minds to make meaning out of these unique representations. All I know is that they are beautiful.

Have You Filled a Bucket Today? By Carol McCloud

Image
This book is about an invisible bucket everyone is purported to be carrying.  The purpose of each person's bucket is to let them fill it with good thoughts and feelings about one's self. When you're happy, your bucket is full and it becomes empty when one's sad. We all need each other to fill our buckets. The characteristics of a bucket filler are numerous:loving, caring, nice and sharing. This book informs of us of the emptiness in life and that emptiness can be replenish with laughter, joy and love.  So many ways to do so viz, invite others, play with others and share jokes with others. Lessson: Do something every day that will fill at least one person's bucket. "I'm going to do something to fill someone's bucket today." How about you?

The Three Little Pigs (Ladybird Picture Books)

Image
This book is about three grown up pigs who decide its about time to leave their homes and fend for themselves. Their mother cautions them about the big bad wolf who would love to eat tasty pigs. She bids them farewell and they head off to their various destinations. In disregard of what their mother had cautioned them about, the first little pig meets a man with straw and decides to build his house made of straw. The second wolf met a man with sticks and still didn't think of the big bad wolf and went ahead with a house of sticks. The last little pig met a man with bricks and thought it was ideal to build with bricks. As preempted, the big bad wolf came visiting and blew off the houses of the first two pigs with a mere huff and puff. And of course, he ate the pigs. It wasn't the case for the third smart pig who built his house out of bricks and had fun strategising to ruin the plans of the big bad wolf. The big bad wolf won't let him be and climbed on hi

Little Miss Muffet's Big Scare by Allan Durant and Leah-Ellen Heming

Image
I read children's books at the most twice a day and I always like to draw lessons from them. I have decided to share with you the message from the books I read as I also write 'The Optimist.' Yesterday we (my kids and I) read  Little Miss Muffet's Big Scare . This story is about a little girl who won't give anyone a break in the city she lived. She was mean even to the nicest people she came across. Doctor Foster asked her to direct him to Gloucester, but she led him in to a puddle that reached his middle. She met Mrs Ladybird and deceived her that her house was on fire and all her children had vanished. Mrs Lady bird almost had a heart-attack- and of course, it wasn't true.  She was naughty to more people including Georgie Porgie, Pussy Cat and the 'man in the moon.' Not only was little Miss Muffet wicked to the people around, but she was boastful about her attitude and how nothing could scare her. One day she sat on a tuffet eating c

They’ve witnessed a live entertainment show; no rubies and cowries spent. Who goes to a cinema with all these daily theatrical encounters? That’s a good point; these people are all ‘mental’. Responded Nahou. “Yes Nahou, they’ve just watched a display of concealed madness compared to Ninong’s, but it  doesn't  occur to them that Mr Muscle man’s fury and anger against his wife is a display of madness that’s been ticked as normal by society. While Mr. Muscle man can go ahead with battering his wife, Ninong who does not inflict any pain on people is being chained because people say he walks around a lot. They want to constrain his movements, but do not want to constrain humans being hurting each other. Humans fight in order to showcase their power, they fight to suppress, to create masters from the powerful and slaves from the weak. They fight to conquer and in all these battles, their madness are validated.” The sun’s rays were now beginning to appear less bright, and the

“The fury of a demon instantly possessed me. I knew myself no longer. My original soul seemed, at once, to take its flight from my body; and a more than fiendish malevolence, gin-nurtured, thrilled every fibre of my frame.”  (Violence against Women) ―  Edgar Allan Poe ,  The Black Cat Pininterest “Did you just say you can never be bare? Be prepared never to get the world stare at you for a moment. In addition, that’s because your notion on bareness-nude-and empty is still very shallow. You’ve got a lot to learn” responded The Optimist. In the city, there’s chaos. There are people who make a lot of noise. Some people have deliberately taken up the hearts of lions and sharks, but the brains of humans because they want to earn rubies and cowries and in the process engage in so many battles.  Meantime, The optimist although right close to Nahou who is walking back home, spins around, swirls, transforms into air and distorts the peace and calm once again of the city. The Beauty of a Photo (Copenhagen Botanical Garden)

I recently visited the happiest place in the world-CPH and I got to take lots of pictures some of which you'll get to see. The point I want to raise here that I got to experience that the Beauty of a Photo lies in the angle of the shot. I took photos of the same tree from different angles and to my eyes, the first photo is unimaginably perfect when it blends with the sky. Blends with the sky  On its own Refraction in water standing tall all alone, but in the midst of other trees.

When you get to Rome, do what the Romans do. I'd preferably coin this phrase as 'partake in what the Romans do even if you don't believe in it.' Well, that was the case for me when I found myself remembering the lives of families and friends who have long transcended our world. It was a beautiful, but yet a humbling experience. Beautiful because it gave me the chance of thinking about my dad, grand-mother (Ngehndab Catherine Gwanulla-she was a very tall, hard-working and strong woman who went to the farm every day of her life till she passed away) Thought of my mother-in-law and many more family members. It was humbling to note that as we are on earth, we are here just for a little while. This humbling effect made me appreciate life more and inspired me to enjoy every moment of my life; to shun all negativity and to see the beautiful in all things and people. we used pumpkins to decorate pumpkins, autumn leaves (the significance here is of the great who have
