EFKA

The sun’s rays were fading, and the skies were now yellowy-bringing a close to the day. Nahou and EFKA headed to grandma’s house. They passed by the public tap where children were carrying buckets of water-some were fighting and others watching, and others encouraging the fight.   “You see when I say people are all ‘mental’ right down to the kids. This sort of barbarism that exists among children and perpetuated by children is a synonymous behaviour possibly copied from adults. Remember the Mr eager muscle man? asked EFKA  Nahou and EFKA walked past the children and arrived the big compound where some kids standing outside grandpa’s house watching the single television in the entire compound. Grandpa was on a big chair snoozing and the kids were not allowed to sit in with grandpa who was a title-holder. Whilst he had the entire inner space, the kids were outside fighting on where to stand and watch better. They were murmuring for if they spoke loud, Grandpa would send them aw

A National Minute Silence to be Held in the UK

A minute of silence will be observed in the UK on Friday the 3rd of July at mid day BST time to remember victims killed at the Tunisian Beach. Almost 40 people are reported to have lost their lives following the tragic incident. The prime minister, David Cameron described the incident as "brutal and sickening". One of the relatives of the dead criticised the press for paying too much attention on the gunmen, but the real people affected have been ignored. The police in Sousse, Tunisia, have arrested a number of associates of the dead gunman following the attack. This type of scenarios will have serious repercussions on Tunisia as touristic country and of people abroad. Our lives can be very much be at risk with one man with a rifle and a twisted ideology. They were almost arriving Nahou’s house and Nahou was desperate to find out just how he could become successful, how he could leave his space and travel elsewhere to make it better, and bigger.   Nahou, it is not the space that matters, it is the mind that matters. For I can assure you that I have seen a million people leave to make it better, but failed because their minds won’t let them. With time you shall understand.”      A little pause as they approached Nahou’s house. The Optimist breaks the silence.   “Meantime, be good, and don’t fail to think, do not fail to try things out. Try one thing at a time, and failing once should never put you off, not even 20 times, for if you persist, you shall thrive. I have given you the clues to success. And use our discussions of becoming bare-nude-empty to become successful. You shall grow and you shall know that the simple ideas are the most workable ideas. Remember that success is not something you don’t know already. E

“You’ve got a big dream. And if you’ve got any brains, one of the ways you can have the world stare at you is to become bare, nude, and empty just like the mad man over there.” “hahahahahaha!!!! You must be kidding. I shan’t become bare, never! Even if is the last thing I have to do to get out of this precarious, unstable, and fragile situation.” replied Nahou. "I now perfectly understand why normal people strip themselves out on the streets in a bid to become successful" thought Nahou. "Come on Nahou, that's not what I mean. You can strip off your clothes a million times over, but do nothing and you will NEVER AMOUNT TO ANYTHING. It is just a pretentious act prescribed by certain groups for their members to become rich. It is nothing but a meaningless construct of which people are blind to observe and practice on a regular. Success does not come from stripping off one's clothes round the round-about. Success comes from tilling, sowing, nurturing and harvesting

EFKA- Born With Supernatural Powers

He was a village boy who had a unique gift brought to him by a power beyond his comprehension. He called it the overwhelming presence because the supernaturally weird creature never revealed his name to him despite several attempts of trying to persuade him to do so. On this particular first attempt, he found himself being lead through a narrow path in the evergreen forest. For once, he thought he was leaving to find a place of peace, quiet, comfort and was happy to follow to that space of no troubles. The nymphos which led him seemed to understand each other, but on his part, he could hardly grasp what they said. He knew for sure that they communicated and it was as though they spoke differently when they wanted him to be on the same page. They were close to the gates. From a stretched look, he could see that the gates had huge barriers and was bolted with a lock.   When they got to the gates, the nymphos crawled to it, opened it, let him out, locked the gates, and hurried back to

Cameroon State Fund Embezzler is Political Refugee in France

Image
A  special  criminal court finds former minister of Public  Works   Dieudonné Ambassa  Zang guilty of embezzling 5.82  billion FCFA of public  funds.  He is expected to serve a life time in prison, but apparently a political refugee in France. In my view it is insufficient to convict someone of corruption. The government of Cameroon should do all in its power to find Dieudonne Ambassa Zang  and ensure that his assets are repossessed and bank accounts frozen. That's the first step to take when a government is bent on cracking down corruption. I think France should have a rethink on status. Society While Dieudonne Ambassa Zang is thought to have embezzled money to the tune of almost 8 billion FCFA, a group of CPDM North West parliamentarians met  with the Minister of Economy Planning and Regional development to probe reasons for government's negligent attitude towards reconstructing the Bamenda-Mbouda Road. The minister's response was that government is  still in se

The Aftermath of Floods in Douala Cameroon

Image
Floodlist.com Cameroonwebnews.com Three children have lost their lives and more than 1500 local inhabitants have relocated as a result of the recent floods caused by an overflow of the river Wouri in Douala, Cameroon. The Governor of the Littoral Region, Joseph Beti Assomo together with members of different services have discussed plans and strategies to tackle the crisis. It seems to me that this is rather a recurrent situation and those in charge are seen to hold talks only when disaster strikes. What happened to forward planning? This is the rainy season and Ministers, governors and other competent bodies should pre-empt such natural incidents and help those who could be directly affected before hand. I say so because on the 9 of July 2014 similar flood incidents was reported by this website: flood list.com/africa/cameroon- douala - floods -malaria In August 2000 the BBC reported the common Douala flood narrative on their website: news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/865819.stm and

Greece Cannot Default

Image
Lonelyplanet.com-Beautiful pics of Greece If Greece defaults, Spain, Italy, Cyprus and Ireland together with Cameroon are likely to follow suit. The best way forward is to work on the 'new proposal' on increasing VAT, Tax and reducing pension pay. Lets see how all of this is going to unravel itself with such colossal sums owed to the IMF. Some may think it is the best time to travel to Greece given the financial crisis which plaques the country. http://7-themes.com/7017143-fishing-village-greece.html Photos:eupeanfestivval.ca

The First Ever Queen's Young Leaders are Announced

Image
jubileetribute.org   The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust announces the names of the first 60 young people across the Commonwealth recognised as exceptional leaders in their respective communities. Among them, three Cameroonians are listed viz: Alain Nteff, Joannes Paulus and Mallah Enow Tabot and from the UK Edmund Page, Nicola Byrom, and Zoe Jackson. Bravo to all contestants. These award winners work to support their communities, raise awareness, and inspire change across a broad field of work. I am particularly delighted there are initiatives like this one to get young people invent, innovate and bring about change. This is one more reason a youth in Africa should see that hard work toward bettering communities is salient. Picture of the 3 Cameroonian!!!
