EFKA

The sun’s rays were fading, and the skies were now yellowy-bringing a close to the day. Nahou and EFKA headed to grandma’s house. They passed by the public tap where children were carrying buckets of water-some were fighting and others watching, and others encouraging the fight.

“You see when I say people are all ‘mental’ right down to the kids. This sort of barbarism that exists among children and perpetuated by children is a synonymous behaviour possibly copied from adults. Remember the Mr eager muscle man? asked EFKA

Nahou and EFKA walked past the children and arrived the big compound where some kids standing outside grandpa’s house watching the single television in the entire compound. Grandpa was on a big chair snoozing and the kids were not allowed to sit in with grandpa who was a title-holder. Whilst he had the entire inner space, the kids were outside fighting on where to stand and watch better. They were murmuring for if they spoke loud, Grandpa would send them away. Nahou had not seen Grandpa the entire day and it was thoughtful to go find out how he was faring.

“ba u tchie?” said Nahou to Grandpa

Grandpa was still sleeping…Nahou cleared his throat and rubbed his feet against the floor making so much noise which woke grandpa. “ahhhhhh Nahouuu! Is it you? Where have you been, boy? Asked Grandpa

“Haaaaaa bbbbbbaaaaaa (stammered Nahou) when will you stop calling me, boy. I am now a man! I have been around town trying to figure things out.”

“Grandpa was not particularly happy to hear that Nahou was making attempts as to how he could become successful. he wanted Nahou to help the women till the soil and tend to the crops. Grandpa said, "Your mates are busy helping on the farm. You are having a walk and trying to figure things out. You’ve got to man up, put your coat on and start working. For men work and boys talk! Go and get my food you little boy.”

“Yes Ba” replied Nahou

Nahou left for Naah’s kitchen for that’s where Ba’s food came from. He was out of sight when grandpa murmured, “I’m trying to figure things out.” And he giggled. It must have amused grandpa that Nahou was making attempts to make sense out of life.

If you cannot rejoice in some other person’s success, you place stumbling blocks on your own path and success might just be unable to locate you. For to become successful you’ve got to do so by tapping into other peoples’ glory moments; you’ve got to get inspired not bitter, you’ve got to get fired up, to sit and work hard and not harbour hate for that successful person. Success is an interconnection;; it cannot be borne of a lone man.

The number of times you fail should not stop you. If you fail, time and time again, make sure you try time, and time again. Be rest assured that success will eventually locate you.
