Little Miss Muffet's Big Scare by Allan Durant and Leah-Ellen Heming
I read children's books at the most twice a day and I always like to draw lessons from them. I have decided to share with you the message from the books I read as I also write 'The Optimist.'
Yesterday we (my kids and I) read Little Miss Muffet's Big Scare. This story is about a little girl who won't give anyone a break in the city she lived. She was mean even to the nicest people she came across. Doctor Foster asked her to direct him to Gloucester, but she led him in to a puddle that reached his middle. She met Mrs Ladybird and deceived her that her house was on fire and all her children had vanished. Mrs Lady bird almost had a heart-attack- and of course, it wasn't true.
She was naughty to more people including Georgie Porgie, Pussy Cat and the 'man in the moon.' Not only was little Miss Muffet wicked to the people around, but she was boastful about her attitude and how nothing could scare her.
One day she sat on a tuffet eating curds and whey when a spider crawled round her tuffet and she noticed. She jumped up, shrieked and ran off. Since then, no one's seen her around town.
THE LESSON: IT IS THE LITTLEST THINGS THAT SCARE BRAVE HEARTS.
