"Fraud or Witch Hunt? House Oversight Takes Aim at Minnesota and Not Everyone's Buying It"

By The Daily Drop | June 14, 2026
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) is turning up the heat on Minnesota, alleging widespread election irregularities that he says demand a full congressional investigation. Appearing on My View with Lara Trump, Comer laid out what he described as a pattern of suspicious activity from ballot handling procedures to voter roll discrepancies  that his committee intends to pursue aggressively. "The people of Minnesota deserve to know their votes counted and only their votes," Comer said, signaling that subpoenas may follow if state officials don't cooperate voluntarily. But not everyone is convinced. Democrats on the committee have fired back, calling the investigation a "partisan fishing expedition" designed to undermine public trust in elections ahead of future cycles.

Minnesota's Secretary of State has maintained that the state's elections were conducted securely, transparently, and in full compliance with federal law. Civil rights groups have also raised concerns that fraud investigations  when not backed by concrete evidence can be used to justify voter suppression measures that disproportionately affect minority communities.

So where does the truth lie?
That remains to be seen. Comer says the evidence will speak for itself once hearings begin. Critics say we've heard this before loud allegations followed by little substance.
What's undeniable is this: election integrity is a issue that resonates deeply with millions of Americans on both sides. Whether this investigation produces real accountability or political theater will depend entirely on what's actually put on the record under oath.
Stay tuned. This one's far from over.
