Imperial university through the President’s PhD Scholarships program is offering 50 fully funded PhD scholarships for International Students, academic year 2021/22. The President’s PhD Scholarships offer; Full tuition fees, Annual living stipend and Annual consumables fund 

 

ABOUT 50 FULLY FUNDED PHD SCHOLARSHIPS AT IMPERIAL COLLEGE 2021/22

Imperial College offers an outstanding opportunity for potential international PhD students to pursue doctoral studies in the United Kingdom.

The President’s PhD Scholarships aims to award up to 50 PhD research scholarships to students who will be privileged to work with an excellent supervisor.

These PhD awards are extremely competitive. Therefore, potential applicants must demonstrate outstanding academic performance in their previous level of study before applying.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

All applicants irrespective of their nationality are eligible to apply

Bachelors degree holders must be highest achievers in their bachelors cohort. Ideally with a first class United Kingdome degree or its equivalent.

Master degree holders must have achieved a distinction and must also hold a first class United Kingdom bachelors degree or equivalent

Check if your scores/grades are equivalent to the required eligibility criteria for pursuing a PhD at Imperial College.

Make contact with a supervisor in an academic department at Imperial College London before applying. Therefore, supervisors should first accept to supervise your research project.

SCHOLARSHIP PACKAGE:

  • Full tuition fees
  • Annual living stipend of £21,600
  • Annual consumables fund of £2,000 (Only for 3 years of study)

HOW TO APPLY:

Submit your PhD degree application for admission to study at Imperial through our online admissions portal. Thereafter, your department will put you forward for the scholarship based on academic merit and potential.

NB:

There is not a specific scholarship application form for the President’s PhD Scholarship scheme. Therefore, to be considered for the scholarship you must select the in the funding section.

If you are prompted to submit a personal statement, make sure it is maximum 2 pages or 1000 words long. It should outline your academic & research achievements to date as well as a brief explanation of your planned research project.

APPLICATION DEADLINES:

There are 3 application deadlines. Applicants who apply before a given deadline will be notified about the scholarship decision by a certain date

6thNovember 2020 (scholarship award notification – 31stJanuary 2021)

8thJanuary 2021 (scholarship award notification –31stMarch 2021)

19thMarch 2021(scholarship award notification –31stMay 2021)
