I've Got a Cupboard Full of Books and an Empty Wardrobe

I may appear to be present on Facebook, and a couple of other platforms, but behind the scenes, I squeeze time to blog and connect with people to mentor them on their academic paths. Some days can be draining especially when I find myself giving too much in terms of advising people on what's best for them, and how they can improve their performance, and that of their children. It can become daunting if you constantly give out without receiving.

I have one passion and it involves reading and it is only when I soak myself in the depths of someone else's thoughts that I feel I have received something back. I have tried to buy more books and the other day as I looked through the cupboard in my study room, I felt as though I am in the midst of gifted individuals each waiting for me to choose them and savour their inner most secrets.

When I am surrounded by books
I don't have to worry about my looks

When I'm surrounded by books
I feel like I'm left in tenterhooks
Until I savour every word of the book

Bestbooks are like guidebooks
Kept in the most beautiful angle of my nook

When I am surrounded by books, I feel like I'm in the company of great minds; tapping formidable ideas which when put to use, morphs my existence to something previously unimagined.

I love books so much so that I have fewer clothes than books.

I have seen the magnanimous impact of reading on an everyday basis both intellectually and in the way I comport myself, and most saliently in the manner in which I interpret the various issues which plague our world.

One mentee, came on board today, and he can't wait to work with me on his academic path because of my love for books.
