A Cacophony of Goodness

I had to be quick with this morning breakfast as schools have started for this term. Since the festive season, I've not had any genuine breakfast-the type that sends me imagining for an earlier dawn. I've mainly consumed left-overs and drinking some fruits and vegetable blends for cleansing the internal organs. Today, I decided that healthy can be eaten for a lesser sum. And so, I got some mushrooms, fried with a pinch of butter and salt, scrambled an egg, a quarter of an avocado, some roasted peanuts and a sprinkle of black pepper. The result was a very attractive brown bread with a catalogue of delicious tastes which could take me through the day.

Mushrooms are edible fungi with very high fibre and Vitamin D. They are neither meat nor vegetables and are fat free...Avocado: a broad range of nutrients in avocado is associated with cardiovascular benefits.Peanuts are a terrific source of protein-a few will on brown bread as the fat will burn in no time. Black pepper aka 'the king of spice' is an excellent source of manganese and vitamin K, a very good source of copper and dietary fiber, and a good source of iron, chromium, and calcium.

The cheese in the background wasn't included, but I decided it'll form part of the snapshot because it was lying on the table and reminded me of my childhood days consuming Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV) as they frequently showed adverts of 'la vache qui rit'. Interestingly enough, I am still a fan to the cheese and maybe, it is my desire to reconnect to the past-of making every possible attempt to relate to the taste buds of my childhood even after crossing Cameroon's space. I was thrilled to find the cheese on the supermarket shelves and I could hardly resist purchasing one. Quite evident of my quest to return to my childhood taste buds.

I think the breakfast all put together is cheap because I'm left with mushrooms that could last four days more, my avocado is well sealed to be re-used tomorrow or when necessary.  You don't need a five star restaurant-create one at home.
