Trump Declares Iran Truce 'OVER': Brands Iranian Leaders 'SCUM' at NATO Summit

By Dr. Delphine Aso

A fragile ceasefire between the United States and Iran appeared to collapse dramatically after President Donald Trump declared the truce "over" during a tense NATO summit, delivering one of his strongest rebukes yet of Iran's leadership.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said he no longer wished to negotiate with Iranian leaders, describing them as "scum" and accusing Tehran of violating the ceasefire through renewed military action. His remarks followed a fresh exchange of attacks that has reignited fears of a wider regional conflict.

The President's comments came as NATO leaders gathered to discuss global security challenges, but the escalating crisis in the Middle East quickly overshadowed much of the summit's agenda. Trump signalled that diplomacy had reached a breaking point, raising concerns about the future of any peace efforts.

The renewed tensions have already rattled global markets, with oil prices climbing sharply amid fears that continued fighting could threaten energy supplies and international shipping routes.

World leaders are urging restraint as the international community watches closely for signs of either further escalation or a return to negotiations. Analysts warn that the coming days could prove critical in determining whether diplomacy can be revived or whether the conflict will deepen
