President Donald Trump has sparked fresh debate after saying he personally asked FIFA to review the red card shown to United States forward Folarin Balogun during a recent match. Speaking to reporters, Trump argued that the challenge should never have resulted in a sending-off, insisting that "it wasn't a foul." He also criticised the match official, suggesting the referee had a "suspect" record and calling for the incident to receive further scrutiny.




The comments have quickly attracted attention across the sporting world, with football fans divided over whether political figures should publicly weigh in on refereeing decisions. Balogun's dismissal proved to be one of the most talked-about moments of the match, with supporters debating whether the referee made the correct decision under the Laws of the Game.
