The University of Waikato established the International excellence scholarship in 2015, aiming to promote education and promote young talents who are applying for the undergraduate program for the first time. International Excellence Scholarship of up to NZD$ 10,000 will be awarded to students with excellent academic achievements and to students who possess the potential to become global ambassadors for the University of Waikato.

International Excellence Scholarship

The scholarship is applicable to the tuition fee only, the applicant has to apply for the student visa and pay for their first-year fee, the funding will be transferred to tuition fee once the enrollment process is completed. The scholarship is valid for 12 months from the date outlined in the offer of a place, and the scholarship is non-refundable to the students.
