Worried About Studying Abroad Amidst the Coronavirus Pandemic? Here's Our Perspective

Around the world, the corona virus pandemic has brought huge and small economies to a standstill. Educational establishments have been forced to temporarily close down to help mitigate the spread of the virus. International students already studying abroad worry about their safety and families back home. Many institutions now offer virtual classrooms and of course, the mode and experience of study has changed for many.

Will the pandemic affect international students seeking to study abroad? Our perspective on Beveen Mentoring is that there are temporal interruptions which will affect many this year. However, universities are still offering admissions as they themselves are uncertain as to when things will normalise. So if you are seeking to begin studies in September, there is a likelihood that things will resume to some degree of normality with strict measures put in place. Due to the strict guidelines that establishments will need to adhere to, I would advise international students to consider September 2020 start date or preferably, January and March 2021 start dates. Our position on Beveen Mentoring is that prospective international students have to be flexible; cognizant that with the current times, things can change.

It is better to wait for a calm, than rush against the storm. This storm is destructive; if you can, avoid it.

Beveen Mentoring is still guiding students on admission and scholarship applications. Contact us if you are confused about studying abroad.
