Secure Some Funds for Uni

Today, I want to grasp this opportunity to welcome new members into this audio cast platform on WhatsApp. Thank you so much for choosing Beveen Mentoring and Scholarship Programme to lead you to achieve academic ideals. You’ve made a fantastic choice-bravo to you!

Today, I am going to talk about the need to find a school which offers some funding to you, and maybe substantial funding for you to pursue your education. Most often, some of us just want to migrate to Western countries probably because we have siblings in these developed nations whom we tend to look up to with our interpretation of their pictures, big houses, and flashy cars as symbolic of wealth. But most times, some of the things you see are "flash"-a show off hidden with huge psychological and financial struggles. If you see a photo of someone standing in front of a storey-building in the USA, it does not necessarily mean that the entire building is their house. I have come across cases in Europe where more than 5 people share one room struggling to make ends meet, but when you see them in pictures, you think your world has come to an end as you compare your state with theirs.  Do not read peoples’ pictures and try to make sense of their lives. That’s because you cannot see their lives in a single picture. There is so much going on that pictures cannot narrate. You’ve got to live in the developed world to be in the position to interpret experiences people face on a quotidian basis. Don't compare lives! Some of you completely rely on the benevolence of family members who are already in Europe when making travel plans, but I can tell you that they too can fail you. You should ensure you double check with them before you travel and even when they do accept to accommodate you, please make room for alternative accommodation if things turn sour as they often do.

As a foreign student, you’ve got to put your fighting boots on, especially if you cannot afford to pay the fees. Life is never easy for those who can’t pay the fees as you would be bombarded with emails, and letters from the school reminding you to pay your fees or face the consequences. The result is that you end up spending sleepless nights trying to figure out which means are available for you to raise extra money not just for the fees you owe, but for huge house rents for just one bed room. In Europe, you could be expected to pay almost 350 Euros per month for one room, plus you’ve got electricity and water bills to sort out, and in some countries pay tax. But most countries I know, exempt students from paying tax. Tax is never the issue, as you spend your time trying to work extra hours to get more money, you bridge immigration rules in circumstances where you are allocated just 20 hours per week. Your quest for money then impacts on your output as a student and when your academic output is assessed, it is never reflective of your academic potential because your brain is struggling not just to help you work out means to survive, but also heavily burdened with the task to accumulate lecture notes at an optimum level. It can be excruciatingly tedious to study in circumstances of financial lack, and hence the reason I always stress that students should find the necessary funds before embarking on a journey to Europe, Australia, Canada, and the USA. Even if it is just a small cost catered for by the university like reducing your fees, through a payment reduction scheme, partial scholarship award, or even better, a full scholarship. Securing some funds would go a long way to saving you that burden of financial lack. But how does one obtain the necessary funds to study abroad? I will write another post on this.

The ideal thing to do is to plan your life right from high school-design a path you wish to follow and make sure you excel in all subjects, contribute to community development, and volunteer your services to non-governmental organizations aimed to increase your chances of securing a scholarship. Even with high grades, some incredibly brilliant students are just so oblivious as to where they can find funding, and so never even get to know about the opportunities available to them. They are busy doubting themselves-engage in living their fears and not their dreams. Here at Beveen Mentoring and Scholarship Programme, we work extremely hard to direct your steps to acquire some funds successfully for your academic pursuit. We eliminate your fears and open you to a world of opportunities. Dare to Dream! Find us on Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/Beveen-Mentoring-Scholarship-Programme-1525558684407467/
