My Visit to Tenerife, Spain. Verdict? I adored it!
Thanks to a few organisations, and my all round hero, I've been to a few countries in the world from SA, Madrid, Malta, France, UK, Belgium, Sweden, and Holland. I rarely do come back and say I visited this or that, but I cannot resist the urge to say something about the beautiful and highly hospitable Tenerife next to the exciting city of Santa Cruz. My most memorable moments was the warmth I felt having escaped the mid period of winter for a break. It was unusually happy because of the weather. When we arrived Tenerife like in most of the countries we've travelled to, all eyes were on us; apparently translating that message of so these ones can make it to the Mediterranean Palace. I don't know for sure, but that's my thought. I felt like the only white person in a village of black people somewhere in the remote villages of the North Western region in Cameroon. The Mediterranean Palace is a massive hotel-way out of proportion and I felt slightly uncomfortable, but it was nothing to worry about in the long-run. I guess I got familiar with the environment.
The bizarre moment is when you wake up for breakfast and you get into the hall more like a refectory and all these eyes are staring at you, and I you hold your head up, strut your stuff and say to yourself, you can stare all you want. I am here to enjoy, and nothing is going to stop that. Liberation from the stereotypes if I am allowed to interpret the fixation regards on us as stereotypical...but well, we're here now...there's no return I should do myself the favour to at least enjoy the warmth, sunshine and the lovely place. If you are looking to relax during the harsh winter weather, then Tenerife is the place to be. We made several trips to the beach and built lots of sand castles. We equally took pictures of some sand castles built by those who make a living out of it. We visited the mountains one of UNs heritage sites called the Teide National Park located in Tenerife. This mountainous site adds to Tenerife's two weather fronts-the warmth on the coastal lines contrasts with the cold at the mountain tops. The rocks found at the mountain top are so enormous that it makes you feel too little in the eyes of the universe. The mountain rocks humbled me. We equally made a boat trip to see the Dolphins-the life savers-more like Delphine eh? lol.
As regards food, I do not think that they do as well as the French. We struggled to eat any food that was to our palates. We eventually found a restaurant called, "Mamma Mia" and their food was something I'd love to replicate someday.. Taste delicious!
