Cameroonian Tech Savvy Gets Nominated
The innovation prize for Africa has announced 10 nominees for its Annual Innovation Prize for Africa among whom is March Arthur Zang from Cameroon. He is selected among a record number of 922 applications from 42 African countries. It looks like tech business is the new Silicon Valley for Africa. No doubt that some of those who run the tech world say, "coding is the new literacy". You can't code, you can't permeate the virtual sphere with ease. I now see how imperative it is for the little ones to get into acquiring the basic computer skills including coding.
According to information from http://innovationprizeforafrica.org/aif-announces-the-10-nominees/, Marc Arthur Zang, Cameroon developed the The cardio-pad. It is an affordable tablet that records and processes the patient’s ECG (heart signal) before transferring it to a remote station using mobile phone networks. The device can be used in village hospital and clinic settings in the absence of a cardiologist. ECG results can be downloaded on a tablet by the cardiologist.
We will know the outcome roundabout the 12 and 13 of May, 2015.
Keeping fingers crossed for you!!!
Best of luck
