- The British Academy is the premier national learned society in the United Kingdom devoted to the promotion of advanced research and scholarship in the humanities and social sciences.
- Award purpose
- To enable outstanding young scholars to obtain experience of research and teaching in the university environment, which will strengthen their curriculum vitae and improve their prospects of obtaining permanent posts by the end of the fellowship.
- Eligibility
- Applicants must have obtained their doctorate no earlier than July 1st and must not have held an established teaching post in an Institute of Higher Education. Applicants must be United Kingdom nationals, or nationals of any country who have a doctorate from United Kingdom university or European Union nationals resident in the United Kingdom.
